Mykonos is famous for its cosmopolitan atmosphere, its exciting nightlife, the picturesque Cycladic architecture and its beach clubs – perfect for a holiday. Here is a selection of the best hotels in Mykonos.
Myconian Villa Collection
Designed for privacy and total relaxation, the Myconian Villa Collection is a luxury hotel located above Elia Beach in Mykonos.
It’s a standalone hotel about 20 minutes from Mykonos Town, but a part of a wider gated community with 4 sister hotels, each with a different look and atmosphere.
Don’t be fooled by the name: there are, in fact, 69 rooms and suites as well as 16 villas, each offering sweeping views over the Aegean, many with terraces with private Jacuzzis and pools.
While the design retains the elements of the classic Mykonos white style, there are beautiful pieces of furniture and art work on the walls that add character.
The view from your room may be mesmerising, but the action takes place around the beautiful pool area and restaurant.
For a change of scene in the evening, visit the excellent Japanese restaurant Sishu Sushi Bar at the neighbouring Myconian Imperial hotel.
Bill & Coo Suites
Bill & Coo is all about the setting – there is no better spot to enjoy the sunset than with a drink around the pool area with the iconic Mykonos windmills as a backdrop as the sun sets.
Just a few minutes’ walk from Mykonos Town, Bill & Coo is a great base – close enough to enjoy the restaurants and shopping but a world away when in the privacy one of the 30 stylish suites.
Dinner at the restaurant was my favourite meal in Mykonos: a modern, inventive and relaxed take on a tasting menu with a stunning view.
Kivotos
Located in Ormos Bay, Kivotos is built into a rocky slope with 39 rooms and suites dotted around the property, each with an individual design and some with private pools.
Kivots is full of style and character with unique pieces of art and antiques creating a unique look and atmosphere; more private villa than hotel.
While the pool and swim-up bar is the focal point, those wanting more privacy can walk down to the secluded rocky beach where you’ll have a piece of Mykonos all to yourself.
Boheme Mykonos
Located within walking distance of Mykonos Town and 300m from the beach, Boheme Mykonos has a slight bohemian atmosphere where the interior décor is whitewashed with splashes of bold colour.
The vibe here is laid back chic – roll from your room to the outdoor pool and sundeck to lounge all day with views out to the Aegean sea.
Some rooms are on the smal side, so book one of the suites with private terrace with sun loungers, outdoor dining table and Jacuzzi.
The restaurant serves Mediterranean dishes and the bar is perfect for a night in with a view or for getting you started on an evening in Mykonos town.
