New Restaurant Openings and News – October 2023

A Michelin starred chef opens 3 restaurants at the new Raffles London, Claude Bosi opens a rooftop restaurant at the new Peninsula London, Harrods dining hall welcomes new chefs and much more.

Brooklands

Brooklands is the rooftop restaurant from Chef Director Claude Bosi, which opened on 4th October at The Peninsula London.

Claude Bosi’s creative menu combines British produce with French techniques with glorious views of London.

Il Gattopardo

Il Gattopardo, a new Italian on Mayfair’s Albemarle Street, opened on Friday 6 October.

The restaurant’s menu centres around Italian classics and modern interpretations of dishes from across Italy, created by Executive Chef Massimo Pasquarelli.

There’s a dedicated Crudo Bar serving a selection of raw and marinated fish and shellfish along with a wine list with an Italian focus, with a large selection from Piedmont and Tuscany.

Harrods

Harrods reopened its impressive Grade II listed Dining Hall with the arrival of four new internationally celebrated chefs and cuisines.

The Harrods Dining Hall’s new portfolio will include Sushi by MASA, offering an ‘omakase’ experience from acclaimed Michelin three-starred Chef Masayoshi (‘Masa’) Takayama.

Akara

Akara, the new restaurant from Aji Akokomi, from fine dining restaurant Akoko, will open in Borough Yards.

Akara will showcase West African cuisine in a relaxed setting with a menu designed for sharing.

Akara, which is named after the West African street food dish, will offer a variety of Akaras, a crispy savoury fritter made from black eye beans, with different fillings.

KOLAE

Mark Dobbie and Andy Oliver – the co-founders of Spitalfield’s som saa – will open KOLAE in Borough Market on 27 October.

The restaurant draws its name from Kolae, the Southern Thai cooking style where ingredients are bathed in a curry-like coconut marinade and grilled over open flames.

Signature dishes will be cooked in the Kolae style and complemented by a seasonal offering of fish, game, seafood, curries, vegetarian specials and small plates.

Mauro Colagreco at Raffles London at The OWO

Mauro Colagreco has launched 3 new restaurants at Raffles London at The OWO.

The globally celebrated Chef Founder of Mirazur – which was awarded the best restaurant title in the world at the World’s 50 Best in 2019 – has launched three restaurants at the new hotel: Saison, Mauro Colagreco and Mauro’s Table.

Cocochine

Former Petrus head chef, Larry Jayasekara, opens his first restaurant, The Cocochine, in Mayfair this month.

The restaurant will feature a basement wine cellar, a 28-cover dining room on the ground level complete with a seven seat chef’s counter and a two-storey private dining space.

The menu will be fully a la carte using fresh produce from a Northamptonshire farm.

Bambi

James Dye, the co-owner of Frank’s Café in Peckham and The Camberwell Arms, is to open Bambi, a new music-led wine bar and restaurant in London Fields in October.

The kitchen will be headed up by chef Henry Freestone, who previously won a Bib Gourmand at Peckham Cellars. 

Bambi will operate as a wine bar and restaurant in the early evening, while after dinner resident DJs will take over until 1am on weekends.
