Dishoom, the Bombay Café in Covent Garden, has teamed up with the DSC South Asian Literature Festival to celebrate the wonderful stories behind the Diwali festival with a fun-packed day of face painting, pavement art, storytelling and film.
Dishoom will offer a Diwali feast menu from 18th October (until 30th October), featuring Phaldari Kofta Ruby, a dish of dumplings stuffed with vegetables, paneer and pomegranate; and the Diwali Biryani, slow-cooked and layered with winter vegetables and aromatic rice encased in a dough purdah for £22.50 per person. Other options include the grilled Lobster tail, cooked with ginger, chilli, lime and coriander followed by the Chicken Berry Biryani for £27.50 per person.
Cinnamon Kitchen is also offering a special four-course Diwali tasting menu. Available from 17th to 22nd October at £45 per person, dishes include a collection of delicately spiced treats including tandoori king prawns, grilled partridge, roasted rack of lamb, Bombay spiced vegetables and a creamy saffron malai hawa dessert.
