Mishkin's Restaurant

Russell Norman and Richard Beatty, the owners of Polpo, Polpetto, da Polpo and Spuntino will open their fifth restaurant Mishkin’s in November in Covent Garden.

Russell Norman describes Mishkin’s as “a kind of Jewish deli with cocktails”. The menu will include items such as Brick Lane salt beef on soda bread, a classic Ruben sandwich on rye, oxtail cholent, cod cheek popcorn and house-smoked beef brisket hash & eggs. The cocktail list will feature classic drinks from the 30s and 40s with an emphasis on gin.

Mishkin’s has 40 seats in the main restaurant and 12 at the bar.  In a departure from the ‘no reservations’ policy of Polpo and Spuntino, Mishkin’s will take bookings for lunch and for dinner and will open all day, seven days a week.

Address: 25 Catherine Street, London, WC2B 5JS

  • This will be a somewhat strange topic for comment, bu I really want to know the answer- my maiden name was Mishkin, and I have lost touch completely with that side of my family, owing to divorce before my teens…PLEASE, have you any idea if anym embers of my family are involved, or if the name was just dreamed up for the purpose?
    Hopeful- Trudi Taylor Gray
