The Clove Club<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n

One of the best restaurants in Shoreditch, The Clove Club<\/a> offers a no-choice, daily-changing, nine or five course dinner menu or three course lunch menu of dishes made with interesting and often overlooked British ingredients.<\/p>\r\n

\"The<\/p>\r\n

Headed up by Michelin-starred chef Isaac McHale and located in what used to be Shoreditch Town Hall, the restaurant is contemporary and slick and offers an innovative and experimental dining experience.<\/p>\r\n

The Clove Club uses Tock, a ticketing reservation system where you have to prepay for you meal ahead of time.<\/p>\r\n

Manteca<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n\r\n

Manteca was one of our favourite new restaurants of 2021<\/a>, and a definite highlight of the Shoreditch restaurant scene.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

\"Manteca\"<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The daily menu focuses on Italian nose-to-tail cooking, hand-rolled pasta and fire-cooked cuts of meat to share.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Try the Manteca Sundays, a family-style sharing lunch with cured meats, sharing lasagnes, herb-stuffed porchettas with salsa verde, all to share.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Daffodil Mulligan<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Richard Corrigan\u2019s 60-cover restaurant near Old Street includes a 10-seater oyster bar and a basement pub with a series of live music nights.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The hearty, ever-changing menu features produce from Corrigan\u2019s country estate in Ireland, Virginia Park Lodge.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Blacklock Shoreditch<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The 95-cover restaurant serves the classic chops and meat menu you expect from Blacklock with one of the best sunday roasts in London<\/a>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

This place is cool, affordable, lots of fun and has excellent food.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Smokestak<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Smokestak, the East London barbecue restaurant from chef and founder David Carter remains a Shoreditch favourite.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

There’s a huge range of smoked delights like the brisket and pickled chilli bun, while there are also some gorgeous dishes for vegetarians.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

In the evening, the terrace<\/a> is heated and the bespoke canopy is cosily lit with festoon lighting.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Butchies<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Serving only premium quality free-range birds in their award-winning fried buttermilk chicken sandwiches, Butchies offers well priced, great tasting food.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The menu is a combination of burgers, buffalo wings, salads and sides – with a heavy emphasis on chicken.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Sandwiches include the Original, which features pickles and Butchies\u2019 homemade garlic & fresh herb aioli and Butchies Hot Chicken served with Butchies hot coating, hot sauce and pickles – a sandwich reserved for chilli fiends.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

One Club Row<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

One Club Row is a new Shoreditch restaurant from chef Patrick Powell (Chiltern Firehouse, Allegra), James Dye (Bambi, The Camberwell Arms, Franks), and Benjy Leibowitz (NoMad NYC).<\/p>\r\n

One Club Row is located in a beautiful dining room on the floor above The Knave of Clubs pub, but with its own street entrance.<\/p>\r\n

\"OneDrawing on the time Benjy spent working in New York restaurants, One Club Row brings a slice of the glamour and the old school hospitality of New York to Shoreditch.<\/p>\r\n

Oysters, martinis, a house pianist with a menu of classic bistro dishes.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

BRAT<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The centre stage at Brat is the wood fire oven and the main event is the 1.2kg turbot to share, which arrives with a glistening char on the skin and is meaty yet wonderfully delicate to taste.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The joy of the food here is that Tomos takes excellent quality ingredients and lets them shine on their own.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Everything seems so simple, but tastes anything but. Brat feels homely and welcoming – somewhere you would want to linger long into the evening \u2013 and it gets the simple formula of good food with good fine and warm service just right.<\/p>\r\n

Kolamba East<\/h2>\r\n
Kolamba East, the new Sri Lankan restaurant on Blossom Street in East London, offers a modern take on Sri Lankan home-cooking – hearty and delicious food, perfect for this time of the year.<\/div>\r\n

It\u2019s cold and wet on the evening we visit, so poppadums with mango chutney, hot butter soft shell crab and lamb chops are perfect to start our feast, which we wash down with refreshing Lychee martini and Kolamba spritz cocktails.<\/div>\r\n

Sea bream in coconut, whole rib jaggery beef and a brilliant trio of side dishes (tomato sambol, dhal with spinach and yellow rice), plus probably the best roti we\u2019ve ever had, go perfectly with a bottle of Cr\u00e9mant.<\/div>\r\n

Add a chilli chocolate tart for dessert, and we go home happy, full and much, much warmer than when we came in.<\/div>\r\n

Rochelle Canteen<\/h2>\r\n
\r\n

Rochelle Canteen, from chef Margot Henderson and business partner Melanie Arnold, serves up classic, seasonal cooking in Shoreditch.<\/p>\r\n

A classic British restaurant and much revered by chefs and the wider restaurant idustry.<\/p>\r\n<\/div>\r\n

Hawksmoor Spitalfields<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n

Hawksmoor has built a reputation for being one of London\u2019s best steakhouses.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

The original restaurant opened in Spitalfields in 2006 and since then, the team has opened five more restaurants across London and one in Manchester.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The menu at Hawksmoor features sumptuous steaks from ethically reared British cows.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Nobu Shoreditch<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n

The Nobu hotel opened in Shoreditch, just off Great Eastern Street, in the middle of 2017 with 150 rooms and a large 240 cover restaurant and bar on the lower ground floor.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

The design is a mix of urban with its concrete walls and classic Japanese with its use of light wood furniture.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The menu features all the Nobu classics – popcorn shrimp, black miso cod, sashimi salad and yellowtail with japaleno.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Galvin La Chapelle<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n

Galvin La Chapelle is an elegant destination for modern French cuisine in the Victorian splendour of St Botolph\u2019s Hall with vaulted ceilings, arched windows and marble pillars.<\/p>\r\n

There is a selection of menus to choose from \u2013 a menu gourmand, prix fixe lunch and early dinner menu and Sunday Roast<\/a> lunch menu.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The service is attentive but unstuffy, the ambience is charming but unpretentious and the food is unfussy but beautifully presented.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Padella Shoreditch<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Padella in Shoreditch remains a huge hit with its affordable fresh pasta.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Llama Inn<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Llama Inn, founded by Juan Correa and chef Erik Ramirez in Brooklyn in 2015, opened in London on the rooftop of the Hoxton Hotel in Shoreditch.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Its twist on Peruvian cuisine has proven to be just as successful in London as in New York with dishes such as pork shoulder bun with sweet potato, crispy squid with yuca and rocoto, and arroz con mariscos.<\/p>\r\n\r\n
