Here’s a selection of events and pop-ups taking place over the next few months for you lovers of food and drink.
CHEFStock 2013 at Alyn Williams at The Westbury
Each Tuesday in September, Alyn Williams will be joined in the kitchen by one of four internationally renowned chefs to create a one-night-only dining experience.
The schedule is as follows:
3 September – Sat Bains from Restaurant Sat Bains (Two Michelin Stars)
10 September – Bar de Pooter from Pastorale, Belgium (Two Michelin Stars)
17 September – Simon Rogan from Roganic (Two Michelin Stars)
24 September – Ignatius Chan from Iggy’s Singapore (No. 65 in World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2013)
A welcome reception of Pol Roger Vintage 2004 Champagne with canapés created by both chefs will be followed by an eight course menu. Tickets cost £180 per person and includes all food, wine and Pol Roger Vintage 2004 Champagne.
The Hutch Club at Quaglino’s
The Hutch Club is taking over Quaglino’s restaurant in St James’s, turning the bar into a glamorous cocktail and jazz pop up bar. From now until 31st August 2013, The Hutch Club will feature an Art Deco Martini Bar, a private Drinking Den and an alcoholic Popcorn Bar.
The Hutch Club will feature a programme of live jazz on Friday and Saturday evenings – tables available by reservation only.
‘Straight Up’ at Hakkasan
Hakkasan‘s new summer series of cocktail and spirit masterclasses called ‘Straight Up’ will take place at Hakkasan Hanway Place every other Saturday from 13 July to 7 September.
Priced at £30, the masterclass will focus on Hakkasan’s classic and inventive cocktail list, hosted by Hakkasan’s leading bartenders. To book, please call+44 207 927 7000.
Cointreau Garden Fizz Party
Cointreau is hosting a series of rooftop garden parties to celebrate the new ‘Cointreau Fizz’. The Cointreau Fizz Garden Party series, which are complimentary for Cointreau lovers, will take place on a secluded rooftop garden at The Skyroom, London Bridge every Tuesday evening until 2 July 2013.
The Krug Kitchen at Aveqia
Aveqia London, which combines learning to cook with a fine dining experience in a relaxed setting, has recently launched The Krug Kitchen, which is designed to offer an elevate private dining experience where you can enjoy the food with Krug champagne paired to each course.
The private dining room is available for 10 people and is priced at £3500 (ex VAT).
Initiation to Sake at Sake no Hana
Sake no Hana, the Japanese restaurant in St James’s, are launching a series of monthly ‘Initiation To Sake’ classes.
Christine Parkinson, Head Wine Buyer for the Hakkasan Group globally, will host an intimate group on the first Saturday of every month in Sake no Hana’s ground floor bar. Running from 11am, the half-day event will offer an introduction to the history of sake, with a particular focus on how and when to drink it.
Guests will try seven different types of sake and one umeshu – a traditional Japanese plum wine – followed by lunch at Sake no Hana’s sushi counter, for £60 per person.
